Gengras Closing BMW, Triumph Store

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

A little more than five years after acquiring them, Gengras motorcycles in East Hartford is dropping the BMW and Triumph motorcycle lines and will sell only the Harley-Davidson brand. RIDE-CT.com has learned that Gengras, which previously jettisoned Ducati, will eliminate its two remaining Euro brands by the end of October.

The downsizing means that Connecticut will now have only one BMW dealer in Max BMW in Brookfield and two Triumph dealers in Libby’s Motoworld in New Haven and Branchville Motors in Ridgefield. Gengras picked up BMW and Triumph lines in July 2006, buying them from Canton Cycles in Winsted. That dealership subsequently went out of business.
