Max BMW Expanding to Northern NJ

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

Max BMW owner Max Stratton has been mum on the matter, but a letter to customers posted on the website of Bergen County BMW Motorcycles in Rochelle Park, NJ and on its Facebook page reveals that Bergen County BMW is going away and that Stratton is opening a new store to serve the area.  It will be his fifth dealership in the northeast.

The undated letter, signed by general manager and owner Liz DiGennaro (pictured) and shown below, states that Liz DiGennaroBergen County BMW will no longer sells bikes as of Dec. 31, but that Max BMW “will be moving into the area and opening a dealership.” She added, “We’re working with Max’s to make the transition as seamless as possible for our customers.”

No other details were supplied. However, a Facebook post by Bergen County BMW states that Max BMW “will find a place close by” for the new Beemer store.

Bergen County BMW opened in the winter of 2009, joining the DiGennaro family’s other motorcycle store, Bergen County Harley-Davidson, which dates back to 1975. “We have built the business from a small 5 person to shop to a Top-Ranked dealer, with over 50 employees,” Bergen County BMW’s website reports.

Max BMW has existing stores in Brookfield, CT; Troy, NY; and North Hampton, NH and is planning on opening another dealership in South Windsor, CT in the new year. The deal to purchase land and a building for the new store in the Hartford area was due to close last week, but no word on whether that closing took place.
