Roost Offers Reward For Stolen Bikes

THOMASTON, CT – Roost Powersports is offering a $10,000 reward for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the thieves who burglarized the store at 323 S. Main St. here early Friday morning.

Roost - inside outAs many as six thieves broke the glass in the store’s showroom and got away with seven new Husqvarna motorcycles, valued at more than $80,000.

Roost Powersports owner Jason Pinette told the Republican-American newspaper that video cameras caught six people loading the bikes into a box truck about 3 a.m. Friday. He said the dirt bikes were valued at between $9,000 and $12,000 each.

“This kind of thing shouldn’t be happening around here. As a small-business owner, it really packs a punch on me,” Pinette told the newspaper.

Roost Powersports has insurance. Pinette spent much of Friday cleaning up and doing paperwork for police and his insurance company.
