Size Matters as Triumph Recalls Sprints

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

An inadequate dipstick on some 2010 Sprint ST and GT models has prompted Triumph to issue a recall order, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration.

The NHTSA reports that due to “an incorrect length” of some dipsticks, “the accuracy of the dipstick for measuring adequate levels of oil may be compromised and adequate oil levels may not be maintained.” The potential result is that “the engine may seize leading to a loss of control of the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.”

Triumph dealers are replacing dipsticks free of charge or owners may call Triumph at 678-539-8782.

The Triumph recall allows RIDE-CT to remind readers that the NHTSA has a website devoted to recall information on all vehicles. It allows riders (and drivers) to check recall news and can be found here.
