Time To Sell The V-Strom

Pardon this self-serving post but…

After four years of fun and reliable service, it’s time to sell the V-Strom. It’s not that the 2008 Suzuki DL650 lacks in any way. It doesn’t. It’s peppy, sure-footed and a joy to bud-bylineride on back roads. It’s fine on highways, too. It’s just that a 2011 Moto Guzzi Norge GT8V is headed to the garage, and I have neither the garage space nor sufficiently deep pockets to justify keeping both. It went up on Craigslist last night at a price below NADA book.

I’m the second owner. The original owner rode it 4,000 miles in four years. I’ve put on 12,000+ more. It’s never been down, although the original owner did manage to scuff the right front fairing slightly in his garage. It’s barely noticeable. What prompted me to buy it in 2012 were friends who told me the V-Strom is perhaps the best all-around bike on the road. They were right!
