Ride Video Offered by Gengras

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

Today’s RIDE-CT column in “The Republican-American” focuses primarily on changes that are being implemented at Gengras Motorcycles in East Hartford, which sells Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati and Triumph motocycles. RIDE-CT visited there earlier this week. In our conversation, Jim Taylor, who is general manager of the Euro brands, dropped a juicy little tidbit that didn’t make it into the column. On escorted demo rides, the dealership has available Bluetooth helmets to allow for comments back and forth, and the escort’s helmet also has a video camera. Gengras will record riders aboard prospective bikes and then email them the video. Cool idea or what? Yes, shooting video is a tool to spur sales, but it’s also an inexpensive way for the dealership to state that it’s into riding as much as the customer. Too learn more about the changes coming to Gengras, pick up today’s edition of “The Republican-American” newspaper. Gengras also allows for non-escorted demo rides but given the complexity of the area, just off of I-84 and lots of criss-crossing streets, an escort might be the better way to go.
