The new year begins with Max BMW in Brookfield and Gengras in East Hartford having apparently dropped the Italian brand Ducati. RIDE-CT’s seeking to confirm reports elsewhere of the departure of Ducati from the two dealerships, which would leave the state without a Ducati dealer.
The new edition of “Boxer Shorts,” the newsletter of Yankee Beemers, quotes Gengras general manager Jim Taylor as saying that Ducati will no longer be carried and that the Harley-Davidson, BMW and Triumph store will be divided, with the European brands getting their own facility once again. Gengras’ website no longer lists Ducati as a brand being sold.
“Boxer Shorts” also reports that Max BMW has dropped Ducati to focus exclusively on BMW. In a separate Facebook post, Cliff LaMotta, who owned Cliff’s Cycle Revolution before being bought out last month by Max Stratton, also reported that Ducati is gone from Brookfield.
It’s a safe wager that details on Ducati will be included in RIDE-CT next Saturday in “The Republican-American.”
