In a recall announced by parent company Piaggio, Aprilia is recalling a small number of Shiver 750s from the 2014 and 2015 model year and Caponord 1200s from the 2015 model year for a power train problem.
A total of 337 motorcycles are being recalled. The company said, “Due to improper machining of the output gear shaft face, the fastening screw on the sporocket may loosen and the rear wheel may lock up,” which increases the risk of a crash.
Piaggio is notifying owners and dealers any output shafts that are found to be defective.
