It’s always inspirational to see a classic bike that’s been given a second life. Wayne Olson of Tillson, NY was out riding Sunday in northwestern Connecticut on a sparkling dark green 1970 Norton 750 Commando.
“It didn’t look anything like this when I got it. It was a rusty red color when I got it,” said Olson, who rescued and restored the vintage British bike about six years ago. “My brother owned it and it sat for 25 years. It needed restoration. I bought it and did the restoration.”
The Norton is one of three motorcycles that Olson owns, which explains why he’s only put about 6,000 miles on it. He also has a 2010 Harley-Davidson Wide Glide and a 1984 Kawasaki Ninja (ZX900A).
The Norton, though, is the centerpiece of Olson’s small collection. “It was in a sad state, but it’s doing better now,” he said.

Nice Bike! It reminds me of my summer of 70 when i took a red commando scrambler ( high pipes on the right side) across country to California from Pennsylvania, and back.
Many good memories from that trip.
Thanks for the reminder of how nice those bikes are..
