Harley-Davidson Dominates At Falls Village

FALLS VILLAGE, CT – It’s the same story every year. Hundreds of vintage car and truck owners bring their rides to the Falls bud-bylineVillage Car & Motorcycle Show, but only a few motorcycle owners ever bother to show up. That was the case again on Sunday, although the bike turnout was better than 2014.

There were some jewels among the motorcycles that were entered in the show as well as among those parked downtown but not formally entered. Harley-Davidson dominated the entries, and among the noteworthy entries was a customized 2004 Road King (above and below) owned by Rob Gingras of Sheffield, MA.

Gingras reported that Kevin Boyle of V-Twin Motorcycle Medic in Pittsfield, MA did the fabrication while Ron Finch of Detroit handled the paintwork. “Most of the paint is his design. You can’t tell artists what to do,” Gingras said.

Steve Drumm of Torrington, CT brought his 2011 Street Glide CVO (below). It’s one of only 1,500 built, with 500 being colored brown, 500 colored orange and 500 colored green. Drumm has put more than 25,000 miles on it.

Displaying ape-hanger handlebars was a 2006 Softail Standard, which has been owned for four years by Doug Vickery of Housatonic, MA.

Also drawing attention was a 1971 Electra Glide FLH owned by Bob Eikey.

While the Judge’s Choice for best bike – a 1981 Electra Glide FLHE owned by Charlie Brumley – disappeared before a picture could be snapped, RIDE-CT & RIDE-NewEngland did manage to get a shots of a few other bikes, including a ratty 1966 Norton Atlas owned by Wayne Collier; a 2003 Sportster with sidecar owned by returnee Don Zanetti of Marshfield, MA (who was profiled last year); and a vintage Triumph Tiger 500.
