Honda is recalling more than 20,000 of its Shadow motorcycles from the 2010 to 2016 model years because of an electrical issue that may cause the engine to stall when riding.
The NHTSA reports, “Engine vibration may cause the bank angle sensor wire to rub on the wire harness joint connector, resulting in the loss of the sensor signal. Without the bank angle sensor signal, the engine may stall when riding, increasing the risk of a crash.”
A total of 22,142 motorcycles are affected, including some of the following models: 2012-2014 VT750CA, VT750C2 and VT750C2F, 2011-2016 VT750C, 2013-2016 VT750CS, 2010-2016 VT750C2B and 2013-2014 VT750C2S.
The recall is due to start Feb. 19. Honda will notify owners and replace the bank angle sensor free of charge.
