Harley Museum Not Open to Shareholders

For the past two years, Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson has held its annual shareholders meeting at its museum, which opened in 2008 and celebrates the history of the iconic brand. Not this year. Seems the facility was already booked on April 30 when Harley inquired about the space. The Frontier Airlines Center in downtown will be used instead. Did you attend the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in New York back in January? You weren’t alone. Just-released attendances figures for the entire series of shows across the country reveal that 67,772 motorcycle enthusiasts passed through the doors in the Big Apple. Forty percent said they wanted to buy a motorcycle in the coming 12 months and 91 percent forked over some cash and bought something at the show. First-timers accounted for 21 percent of the traffic and per person purchases averaged $181. RIDE-CT got in free and didn’t spent a cent. There’s truth to the claims that journalists are tightwads.
