LOUDON, NH – American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Fame inductee and Brookfield, CT resident Mike Baldwin will serve as grand marshal of the 16th annual FIM North America Vintage Road Race Championships on June 11-12 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway here.
“I haven’t been up there in about 20 years. It’s going to be a cool thing to go back there and see what the place is like,” said Baldwin, who currently works in sales at Gengras Harley-Davidson in East Hartford, CT. Noting that some of his former competitors compete in vintages races, he added, “I’m sure I’ll see quite a few people.”
Baldwin is a four-time consecutive winner of the AMA Laconia National (1982-1985), a five-time Formula One Champion and the all-time series win leader with 27 AMA National wins in F1 and Superbike. He was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2001.
“Mike Baldwin represents the heart and soul of international motorcycle racing,” said Bob Coy, founder and executive director of the United States Classic Racing Association.
“With a successful and storied career in the U.S. and abroad in the 1970s and 1980s piloting a variety of machines including Kawasaki, Yamaha, Ducati, Laverda and Moto Guzzi – we’re honored to have him part of the only North American vintage road racing event sanctioned by the FIM-North America.”
