BOLOGNA – Sales of Ducati motorcycles worldwide climbed to 55,451 in 2016, a 1.2 percent increase from 2015. The U.S. continued to be Ducati’s biggest market with customers buying 8,787 new motorcycles, but that was roughly a nine percent drop from 2015.
The Multistrada line experienced growth of 16 percent, while the Hypermotard family was up +15 percent. The Scrambler line continued to be a success with sales of more than 15,500 bikes.
“Ending the year of our 90th anniversary with yet another record is a source of immense pride and satisfaction,”said Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali, adding that “2016 was the seventh consecutive growth year for Ducati, clearly confirming the soundness of the Bologna-based group’s strategy and skills.”
