Ural Back in CT, New Dealer in Norwich

Ural is back in Connecticut. The Russian brand that used to be sold by Canton Cycles in Winsted before that dealership went out of business a couple of years ago has added Street Stuff Cycle in Norwich as a dealer.

Street Stuff Cycle got its first Ural model in at the end of April, a Patrol T. “It’s a little different; something that goes to a different crowd; something that will appeal to an older rider,” Street Stuff Cycle president and founder Rich Krasun said today of the decision to add Ural.

While primarily a maker of sidecar rigs, Ural is now offering its first straight motorcycle, appropriately called the Solo sT. It’s a 40 horsepower, 745cc bike with Brembo brakes. MSRP is $7,799.

Street Stuff Cycle can be found online here. Ural, which just updated its website, can be found here. A check of the “Dealers” page turned up the fact that Ural has returned to Connecticut, and also has another non-active”tab,” suggesting that another dealer is on the way.

A California-based research company is out with its annual report that measures how dealers treat customers. The 2012 Pied Piper Prospect Satisfaction Index puts Harley-Davidson dealers atop the list, with BMW and Ducati stores tying for second place.

Also finishing above the industry average were Indian, Triumph and Victory. Finishing at the bottom were KTM, Moto Guzzi and Husqvarna.

The “tsunami Harley” that floated from Japan to Canada is headed home to its owner. The “York Dispatch” has the story here.
