That Erik Buell would be back with a new street motorcycle has been pretty evident in recent months, but now he’s given Hell for Leather magazine an in-depth interview on the future of Erik Buell Racing. He also gave his take on the future status of motorcycles. Not surprisingly, he said, “I’m a huge believer in motorcycles. The amount of material it takes to make a bike, the amount of garage space it takes to store it, the amount of parking space, the amount of space on the road that it takes up, it’s so green it’s ridiculous. There needs to be more motorcycles out there.”

Ducati is known for sport bikes, so what’s the classification for its upcoming Diavel model? Sport cruiser? The Italian bike-maker has ended months of speculation by revealing that its new Diavel (Bolognese dialect for “devil”) will make its first public appearance at the Milan motorcycle show from Nov. 2-7. Details on the bike are few, but Ducati did release a rear-view teaser photograph and reports that it will use the Superbike-derived Testastretta 11 engine. Ducati promises that the Diavel will be lightweight (456 pounds) and agile, too. By the way, the bike’s name is pronounced Dee-ah-vel.
