Does “Brutus” Break New Ground?

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

Of all the new models introduced at the recent EICMA show in Milan, one stood out – the aptly named Brutus. It’s billed as the “SUV of motorcycles” and features a fuel-injected, 45-horsepower, single-cylinder, 750cc engine with a CVT and optional reverse gear. It reportedly weighs in at approximately 485 pounds.

The motorcycle concept is the creation of Alessandro Tartarini, who is the son of Italjet founder Leopoldo Tartarini. The production model will be available with numerous accessories, including a sidecar version, “snow kit” version, a winch, fire-prevention kit and a generator. It certainly looks interesting.

The MotoGP schedule for 2013 is out and has three races set for the United States – April 21 in Austin, TX; July 21 in Monterey, CA; and August 18 in Indianapolis. The race season begins April 7 in Qatar and ends November 10 in Valencia, Spain.
