Is KTM Buying Husqvarna from BMW?

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

It’s an alphabet soup of bike builders. The British website MCN is quoting “high-placed motorcycle industry sources” as saying that BMW is negotiating the sale of Husqvarna to Austrian bike-maker KTM.

The German giant BMW bought Husky from MV Agusta in 2008 and has put big bucks and loads of people into the development of street machines.

MCN says an announcement on the sale could come as soon as later this week. The story is here.

Under the heading of “this is ridiculous,” a group of more 300 riders in southern California shut down the I-10 freeway and backed up traffic in West Covina on Sunday afternoon so that Hector Martinez could propose marriage to girlfriend Paige Hernandez. A video taken by family shows pink smoke coming from the rear wheel of Martinez’s bike in a pre-proposal burnout. Criminal charges could be filed against Martinez for the stunt.
