Trike riders from up and down the eastern seaboard, including all the way from Florida, began gathering in Torrington, CT today for the fourth annual TrikeTalk.com North East Rally. Early arrivals were taken on a guided tour by event organizer John Luciano, which included a stop at Barkhamsted Reservoir (above).
Some 50 riders with 30 trikes are expected to attend the two-day event, which will be capped by a Saturday night banquet at PSam’s Bar and Grille that will feature trike builder Jim Batterton, owner of Kent Road Motorsports in Cornwall Bridge, as the speaker.
During the day on Saturday, there will be a group ride through Litchfield County, darting into New York state, with a stop in downtown Kent where the trikes are apt to draw a crowd.
The most eye-catching trike on display today was a 2011 Cheetah Chopper SS with a Chevrolet V* engine (below). It’s owned by Bruce Eastwood (“No relation to Clint.”) of Hannawa Falls, NY.
A story on the rally will appear in “The Republican-American” on Saturday.
