It hadn’t even officially opened yet but Indian Motorcycle of Westfield in Massachusetts is no more. Its name has changed and it has added a second line of motorcycles. The new name is Indian Motorcycle of Springfield, which makes sense because it serves the Springfield market and because Springfield is the city where Indians were originally manufactured from 1901 to 1953. And the store has picked up the EBR brand of sport bikes by Erik Buell.
While still awaiting a dealer number from Indian owner Polaris that will make it official, the dealership has quietly opened its showroom at 962 Southhampton Road (Route 202/10) in Westfield, MA and has new Chieftain and Chief Vintage models on the floor. One’s the personal bike of owner Dennis Bolduc while the other’s a loaner from Indian Motorcycle of New England in Worcester.
The dealer number is reportedly due any day. An order for eight 2014 models has been placed with delivery expected within weeks.
The dealership is awaiting confirmation from EBR but has also already placed an order for six bikes.
Indian Motorcycle of Springfield/EBR plans a grand opening event on March 22, and the Indian demo truck is expected to visit May 30-31.

Their gripe was that vests would conceal the patches bearing their club names and infringe on their identities. CBS Sacramento has the story.
