In an email on Thursday, Triumph’s Dave Rosen invited RIDE-CT / RIDE-New England to check out a video link and teased, “This is a small taste of things to come.” Here’s the video:
The first thought before investigating was that maybe that it was tout for a new model. Upon looking at the YouTube video, though, the revised opinion was that maybe Triumph was planning to bring the two bikes to the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in New York next month.’
The back story is that the two bikes that were produced in a “biker build-off” competition that Triumph staged internally in the U.K. Two teams of employees were given new Bonneville models back in May and had until Nov. 4 to customize them. The results were unveiled at the motorcycle show in Milan.

Which team won the Triumph build-off competition? That hasn’t been decided yet. The winner will be determined by which bike gets the most “shares” on Facebook between now and Nov. 26. That’s when the winner will be announced in Birmingham. You can vote on Triumph’s U.K. website.
