The original was a cult classic, and now Honda’s bringing back the Valkyrie heavyweight cruiser. The new version has an 1,832cc, liquid-cooled, six-cylinder engine – up from the 1,520cc motor in the original that was built between 1996 and 2003 – and weighs in at 750 pounds. That sounds like a lot, but it’s 150 pounds less than the Gold Wing and nearly 100 pounds less than the Gold Wing F6B, both of which share the engine.
While not as bold as the Honda Rune, a one-year Valkyrie derivation that was produced in 2004, the new Valkyrie certainly recalls that polarizing model. It comes with a single-sided swingarm and LED lighting, including the headlight, and available ABS.
The Valkyrie will be available in three colors: black, dark red and blue. The price hasn’t been announced, but it is due in showrooms in April.
