In a helmet-cam video recorded by a rider that’s going viral today, a group of bikers in NYC attacked a Land Rover after its driver bumped into one of the riders on the West Side Highway on Sunday and later ran over some bikes in trying to flee, apparently in fear, when the pack confronted him.

The “New York Daily News” reports that Alexian Lien, 33, of Manhattan was driving with his wife, Roslyn, and their five-month-old child when a swarm of motorcyclists surrounded them about 2 p.m.  near 125th St. When one rider, obviously more concerned about looking around than keeping his eyes on the road and the traffic flowing, stopped abruptly, Lien tapped him from behind with the Land Rover.

Lien apparently stopped but when the bikers became threatening, he drove away from the scene, running over some bikes in the process. The pack followed, chasing him up the Henry Hudson Parkway and later catching him near the I-95 exit. The bikers went after him again and again he drove away, only to later be caught by the biker mob at a stop light on W. 178th Street. A motorcyclist is seen smashing the driver’s side window of the Land Rover before the video cuts off.

The newspaper quotes police as saying the bikers beat up the driver, slashing his face and chest.
