Should it be called a “baby Beemer?”
BMW announced today a new sub-500cc model called the G 310 R. The single-cylinder, 350-pound roadster was “newly conceived from scratch,” the company said, and has an “agile, dynamic character.”
The G 310 R is powered by a 313cc, liquid-cooled engine with a backward-tilted single cylinder. BMW reports that the G 310 R has “an output of 25 kW (34 hp) at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm.”
ABS is standard. Seat height is 785 mm (just under 31 inches). The bike is being built in India in cooperation with TVS Motor Company.
