Erik Buell hinted recently that he’d have “a surprise or two” in Daytona next month. Most everyone predicted that he’d unveil a new street bike from EBR (Erik Buell Racing), the company he founded after Harley-Davidson discarded the Buell brand.
Instead of waiting, though, he unwrapped the EBR 1190RS at the Dealer Expo in Indianpolis this weekend. In an interview with the Milwaukee “Journal-Sentinel,” Buell reported, “The first round of bikes are going to be collectibles, exotic, special edition.” Initially, they’ll be sold out of EBR’s operation in East Troy, Wisc. but Buell’s purpose in attending the Dealer Expo was to make contacts for an eventual EBR dealer network.
RIDE-CT is picking up strong hints that one former Buell dealer in Connecticut is seriously interested in adding EBR to its showroom floor. For the “Journal-Sentinel” story, visit here.
