Can-Am Taking Orders For Electric Models, One Dealer In CT To Sell Them

VALCOURT, Quebec – Can-Am moved closer to selling electric motorcycles this week by announcing that select dealers in Canada, the United States and 11 other countries are now taking pre-orders for its Pulse and Origin models.

Production is expected to start in the fourth quarter of this year with global deliveries beginning in early 2025.

According to Can-Am’s website, the sole Can-Am dealer in Connecticut offering the electric models initially will be Scranton Powersports in Vernon. “We are excited to get them to the store as they are very impressive,” said dealer principal Phil Wilson in an email.

2025 Can-Am Pulse

The Pulse is a naked model designed for urban use and commuting. Available in gray, black and white, it has four riding modes – Normal, ECO, Rain and Sport. Rated at 47 horsepower. It’s capable of 0-60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds and is anticipated to have a 100-mile city range.

The starting price for the Pulse is $13,999.

2025 Can-Am Origin

The Origin is a dual sport model designed for both dirt and asphalt. Available in the same colors, it has six riding modes, with two dedicated to off-road terrain. It has a high clearance and dual sport tires. It will go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds and has a 90-mile city range.

The Origin has a base price of $14,499.

“Today, we are reclaiming our two-wheel heritage by bringing new excitement to the electric motorcycle industry,” said José Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP, in providing this week’s update on the brands electric plans.

“50 years ago, Can-Am celebrated many victories with its Track ‘n Trail motorcycles, and we are bringing that pedigree back with a focus on modern electric power, connectivity and thrill. We intend to become a global leader in that space with true innovation designed to simplify the riding experience for new riders and introduce electric motorcycles to all.”

Can-Am first announced plans to build electric motorcycles in early 2022, and two years ago revealed two models were in the pipeline.
