It was just last fall that RIDE-CT / RIDE-NewEngland questioned Polaris’ commitment to Victory; griping about Victory being a VictoryBadge_2012_1SpotCMYKstale brand in need of a dramatic reboot.

Yesterday evening, Victory PR person Robert Pandya sent out a brief email announcing a collaboration between Victory and Roland Sands Designs “to a program dubbed ‘Project 156.'”

Pandya promised more details on May 28, but sent along a graphic that shows what appears to be a Victory race bike or roadster above a line that mentions “Victory Racing.” Does this portend a dramatic shift for Victory? A move outside of the cruiser market?.

The bike in the graphic reveals the new Victory to be a V-twin with an exhaust pipe tucked under the tail in sport bike fashion. The teaser line atop the graphic – “Race to the Clouds” – suggests a model designed for Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Whether it’s a one-off edition or one designed for production as a street model isn’t known.

“There is no further information (even under embargo) at this time, however we appreciate your interest in this exciting future project and the increasing energy of the Victory Motorcycles brand,” Pandya wrote.
