EAST TROY, WI – The revived EBR officially relaunched today by showing off an American flag-themed bike that will be auctioned off for charity and by setting sharply-reduced prices for new bikes coming off the assembly line here.
The MSRP for the 2016 1190SX will be $12,995, which is $4,000 less than what the bike cost when introduced in 2014. The price of the 2016 1190RX will be $13,995, which is $5,000 less than what it originally cost.
“The launch of EBR Motorcycles in 2016 is very exciting for American motorcyclists and the Buell Nation around the globe,” said Bill Melvin, EBR’s CFO.
“The team at EBR is top-notch and they have worked enthusiastically towards this day. It’s a great day for America. America can succeed in manufacturing a high performance sport bike that competes with the fastest motorcycles in the world.”
EBR held a press day yesterday and staged a launch party today. “We are glad to see the talk all over the Internet and Facebook about the launch and those coming to the Launch Party event,” said Erik Buell, the company’s founder and chief technical officer. “It is always fun to meet riders in person, that’s what brings joy to the job!”
EBR went into receivership last April and shut down production. Its assets were purchased roughly nine weeks ago by Liquid Asset Partners of Grand Rapids, MI. Bike production resumed March 1.
In a press release tied to today’s launch party, the company said, ”For 2016, EBR Motorcycles is focused on their restructuring, as well as updates for their 2017 models and development of 2018 motorcycles and future innovations. EBR Motorcycles will continue to work closely with its race sponsors and privateer race teams that achieve success while racing EBRs worldwide.”
