February Poll Results, Willows Drops Victory

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

If you’re a bike owner, you probably own multiple bikes. That’s the conclusion of RIDE-CT.com’s poll question for February: “How many motorcycles do you own?”

A total of 63 percent of voters reported owning two or more. The actual breakdown was 32 percent said that they own “Two” bikes, 17 percent said they own “Four or more,” and 14 percent said they own “Three.”

Getting the most votes was “One” with 37 percent.

A poll question for March will be posted shortly.

In dealer news, Willows Motorsports in Cheshire is dropping the Victory line. “It’s time to downsize a little,” said co-owner Jim Tabor, who added that while the cruiser brand was “cool and everything” competition from another higher-volume Victory dealer made it not worth the effort. Willows continues with  Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha.

Finally, with the Vatican awaiting the election of a new Pope, it’s perhaps fitting to recall Pope Benedict XVI’s contact with the motorcycling world, such as when he accepted delivery of some police model Ducatis for the Vatican’s security detail…

And when he met with Willie G. Davidson…

Maybe someday there will be a Pope who is young enough and has sufficient skills to ride. Until then, it’s the Popemobile.
