Ever read a motorcycle review in a magazine and had to read between the lines or wondered what the point was? When you’re dependent upon ad dollars to stay afloat, you’d better be damn sure you don’t piss off a potential advertiser by saying that their product is crap.
Fortunately, most bikes these days are pretty well made, making the quibbles found in reviews subjective and not of the “one size fits all” variety. Still, in reading reviews, I do sometimes wonder the writer would really say if pinned in the back booth of a pub with a pint in hand.
We’ll never know, but there is a guy in Australia named Marlon – no last name given – who earlier this month posted a review of the Triumph Bonneville on YouTube that just screams honesty. It’s fast-paced, fact-filled and funny … and worth watching:
