Flat Track Racing Coming To Sturgis, ADV Class Added

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Many details aren’t known, but AMA Pro Racing announced today that an American Flat Track event in Sturgis, S.D. will be part of the 2024 racing schedule. Set for Aug. 11, it will coincide with the final day of the 84th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The Spirit of Sturgis TT will take place not solely on dirt, rather on a course that mixes dirt and pavement in downtown Sturgis. It will be free for the public attend.

In addition to flat track models, the AFT event will also debut a class called AFT Adventure Trackers. It will introduce racing with production-based adventure models. No word on which manufacturers might be represented.

“The Spirit of Sturgis TT is not just a race; it’s a tribute to the enduring legacy of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, blending tradition with innovation,” said Gene Crouch, CEO of AMA Pro Racing.

“Racing through the storied streets of Sturgis promises a spectacular new chapter in the city’s rich history in motorcycle racing, while offering an unparalleled experience for fans and competitors.”
