Husqvarna To Hit The Street; 2012 Models from H-D

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

Husqvarna has been known for its off-road bikes, but is now looking for more of a street presence under the ownership of BMW. This past week, it released pictures of a new 900cc parallel twin based adapted from a BMW powerplant. The Husqvarna Nuda 900R will put out more than 100 horsepower and weight less than 385 pounds. The high-performance Husky will have an Ohlins shock, Brembo brakes and a Sachs adjustable fork.. The company is reportedly trying to get the bike to dealers before the end of the year.

Harley-Davidson won’t unveil any “new” models until the summer dealers’ meeting in California on July 20, but the company is shipping more than a dozen 2012 versions of existing models to dealers, which will give riders the opportunity to actually use them during the current riding season.

Available will be six Sportster models (SuperLow, Iron 883, Sportster 1200 Custom, Nightster, Forty-Eight, XR1200X), eight Touring Models (Road King, Road King Classic, Electra Glide Classic, Ultra Classic Electra Glide, Electra Glide Ultra Limited, Street Glide, Road Glide Custom, Road Glide Ultra) and the Tri-GlideUltra Classic trike.
