Indian is out with a new model that recalls the brand’s place of origin – Springfield (as in Massachusetts), where Indians were built from 1903 to 1953.
Powered by a Thunder Stroke 111 engine, the Springfield features a quick-release windshield and remote-locking, hard saddlebags, both of which are removable to make a stripped down cruiser.
Other features include adjustable passenger floorboards, ABS, tire pressure monitoring, cruise control and dual driving lights. There are also crash bars front and rear. The Springfield comes in two colors – red and black. It weighs in at 818 pounds dry, has a 5.5-gallon gas tank and a six-speed transmission. Gauges are mounted into the gas tank and include, speedo, tachometer, dual trip meters, clock, cruise control indicator and tire pressure indicator.
The MSRP for the Springfield is $20,999 in black and $21,549 in red. It comes with a two-year unlimited mileage factory warranty.
