Received an email yesterday evening from Cliff LaMotta, former of owner of Cliff’s Cycle Revolution (now MAX BMW) in Brookfield, on behalf of the Motomarathon Association. He extended an early invitation to RIDE-CT to participate in next year’s Motomarathon. It’s a four-day endurance tour that extends into all six New England states. At the end of the email, he added, “Please extend our invitation to your readers, and any other friends. Those who participate will not be disappointed.”

Sounds interesting. Each day, riders cover 300 to 400 miles on back roads. No divided highway riding allowed. Routes aren’t announced until the night before and riders must stop at various checkpoints as well as check in at the end of each day’s ride. “This is a motorcycle vacation appropriate for all types of riders, one up or two up,” LaMotta wrote. “The camaraderie is fantastic, everyone is welcome in a laid back atmosphere.”
The starting point in past years has been Danbury, with two nights spent in New Hampshire’s White Mountians before returning to Danbury for the finish and an awards dinner. Dates for the 2012 New England Motomarathon haven’t been selected but it should be in early June.
More info can be found on the event’s website here. It does sound like a lot of fun.
