Is Carmaker Audi Buying Ducati?

Is Audi on the way to becoming the owner of Ducati? “Car” magazine reported Monday that the German carmaker has an exclusive deal to buy the Italian superbike builder. The story is posted here. There are certainly two ways of looking at this arrangement: Skeptics will say what does a company known for four-wheeled vehicles know about ones with two wheels? Another view is that Audi could bring stability and focus to Ducati, which builds about 40,000 motorcycles each year. “The New York Times” has more information here.
