Dates have been announced for seven stops on the 2015-2016 edition of the Progressive International Motorcycle Show tour. The New York dates will once again be in December. The IMS will visit the Javits Center from Dec. 11-13, making it the four years in a row that the show has been staged before Christmas.
Other cities on the tour that have been announced include Long Beach, CA from Nov. 20-22; Miami from Jan. 8-10, 2016; Dallas from Jan. 22-24, 2016; Cleveland from Jan. 29-31, 2016; Minneapolis from Feb. 5-7, 2016; and Chicago from Feb. 12-14, 2016.
The announcement comes as UBM Advanstar, the company that produces the shows, revealed that the IMS tour drew 432,000 attendees during its 11-stop run in 2014-2015.
The IMS in New York used to be in January, and served an unofficial mid-point of winter. The shift to December in 2013 began what appears to show observers as a downward slide for the show, with fewer exhibitors and less excitement, which RIDE-CT / RIDE-NewEngland commented on in December.
Unlike in the past, UBM Advanstar did not release New York attendance figures.
