Jampot Vintage Motorcycle Rallye Comes To An End After 48 Years

EAST DURHAM, NY – It was an annual meet that catered to Matchless, AJS and other British motorcycle owners, but was open to dedicated members of the broader riding community. Sadly, after staging of the 48th Jampot Vintage Motorcycle Rallye at the Blackthorne Resort here n 2025, event head John Les announced this afternoon there won’t be one in 2026. Or anytime in the future.

The reason behind the “permanent cancellation” was “dwindling participation,” Les wrote in an email to past Jampot participants and fans. “We can no longer sustain this event at the high standard you deserve. Fewer people were attending each year due to various reasons, most of which are associated with aging.”

Les also noted, “The final blow came last year when our Canadian friends patriotically refused to cross the border and indicated they will not do so as well this year.”

The Jampot Rallye was staged from 1978 to 2014 at Bucksteep Manor in Washington, MA and from 2515 through 2025 at Blackthorne Resport in East Durham, NY. The decision to end the event was made with “a heavy heart and much deliberation,” Les wrote, concluding that the decision “is final. There will be no future Jampot rallies.”
