Contrary to current political thinking, size doesn’t matter. In fact, Kawasaki makes the argument that smaller is better by this week releasing the 2017 Z125 PRO.
Kawi calls it a “pressure-free motorcycle with plenty of capabilities, low price and great gas mileage.” Street legal, the Z125 PRO is powered by a 125cc, single cyliner engine. It has a two-gallon gas tank, 30.7-inch seat height, weighs in at 224.8 pounds and costs only $2,999. It comes in green and gray.
Like Honda’s Grom, the Z125 PRO has 12-inch wheels front and rear. The Grom at 29.7 inches is a tad lower, but the Grom costs more ($3,199). Weight is almost identical with the Grom weighing in at 225 pounds. The Grom has a smaller 1.45-gallon tank.
Kawasaki says, “The Z125 PRO is great for beginner riders who want a real motorcycle without the intimidation, high seat heights or expense. The Z125 PRO is also great for those experienced, fun-loving, thrill-seeking riders who want a second bike to ride around town or through the pits at the local racetrack.”
