“Link of the Week” took a week off last weekend due to a day-long road trip (on four wheels, unfortunately) and a day devoted to volunteering. So, to make up for that shortcoming, two suggestions from contributing columnist Bob Rosen are posted today.
One of them touts a vintage motorcycle museum on Long Island owned by music superstar Billy Joel. Check out the “Link of the Week” page here.

A bill in the Connecticut General Assembly would, if passed, would require “continuing education” for licensed drivers.
As proposed, Bill No. 335 states, “On and after January 1, 2016, a licensee seeking renewal of a motor vehicle operator’s license shall be required to pass a comprehensive test as to knowledge of the laws concerning motor vehicles and the rules of the road. If such licensee does not pass such knowledge test on the first attempt, such licensee shall be required to pass an on-the-road skills test, as prescribed by the commissioner, in addition to such knowledge test.”
Aren’t the lines and wait times at the D.M.V. already ridiculous?

From across the Hudson River in New Jersey, Trebour Motorcycles in Ledgewood has shrunk its product lines. A Feb. 4 post its Facebook page noted that after 15 years the dealership “will no longer be selling Ducatis,” while a Feb. 21 post stated that “after 17 wonderful and amazing years as a Suzuki dealer, we will no longer be selling Suzuki.” The post goes on to say that it’s still a Triumph-Norton shop.

More to read:
– Daytona Bike Week is underway in Florida and the Daytona Beach “News-Journal” is covering it. There are stories about some real horsepower, namely the Budweiser Clydesdales, and about opening day. There’s also a story of a death involving a rider from West Virginia.
– Training wheels on a Harley? Yup. That’s the “Milwaukee Business Journal” is
reporting. The Greenfield, WI-based House of Harley-Davidson dealership is expecting the first few Street 500s in spring and will attach protective apparatus to prevent the bikes from completely flopping over during its Riding Academy classes. The story is posted here.
