Forget ever riding it. Just take it straight to a museum to be admired. That’s RIDE-CT’s take on the new Lotus C-01 motorcycle from Kodewa. Pictures and info of the new model were released Thursday showing “a distinctive body designed by Daniel Simon integrating carbon fiber, titanium and aerospace quality steel.”
Simon formerly worked with Bugatti Automobiles. His lightweight design – the C-01 weighs in at less than 400 pounds – is powered by a 1,195cc, 200-horsepower, water-cooled V-Twin that is lifted from the KTM 1190 RC8 R superbike. It will have a limited production run of 100 bikes.
In comments posted on Lotus’ website, Simon said, “The design process of the C-01 was a labor of love, there were many challenges, ensuring that the bike not only touches your visual senses with its timeless blend of classic appeal and modern execution, but that it is
safe and ergonomically sound was critical for me. We have worked hard to create a motorcycle with very distinctive features such as a clean main body, an extremely low side profile, a bold stance, a unique air intake, logical partline solutions and clean graphics.”
If by now you’re thinking that this sounds a little too much, well, you’re not alone.

The Lotus isn’t the only new motorcycle brand on the way. A Canadian company located in Quebec called Lito is coming out with a new electric model called the Sora with a range of 200 kilometers/124 miles and a top speed of 190 kilometers per hour/118 miles per hour. It will be introduced at the Montreal Motorcycle Show on Feb. 28.
Lito says the Sora is a “zero-compromise superbike that is eco-efficient without sacrificing speed, power or performance.” It has a CVT transmission and an “energy module that is designed to outlast motorcycle expected life.” One interesting feature is that the Sora has an electric adjustable seat, enabling the rider to change position at the push of a button – just like in cars and trucks.
