NEW MILFORD, CT – Max BMW has closed one of its two stores in Connecticut, shuttering its South Windsor location while retaining its flagship operation in New Milford.
In an email today to “South Windsor customers,” owner Max Stratton wrote, “All the friendly faces you know and love from South Windsor have joined our New Milford location.” He continued, “By bringing our locations together, we’re creating a more streamlined and efficient experience for all of the customers in our region.”
Max BMW also has dealerships in Northhampton, NH and Brunswick, NY.
Stratton opened the South Windsor store about 11 years ago after buying the former G & R Marine at 1535 John Fitch Boulevard (Route 5). Over the years, the location has hosted guest speakers, but also was visited by firefighters in 2018 due to a fire in an electrical panel.

In his message to customers, Stratton also wrote, “While a change like this can sometimes feel inconvenient, we believe this move will ultimately provide you with an even better MAX BMW experience.”
Stratton added, “The South Windsor store phone number will remain active, so no need to update your contacts, but for the fastest response, we recommend calling our New Milford store directly at 203-740-1270.”
The closure of Max BMW in South Windsor comes on the heels of the German motorcycle brand having the best year in its history. It sold 210,498 new models worldwide in 2024.
