MIDDLETOWN, CT – It’s not summertime without Middletown Motorcycle Mania, which was staged again Wednesday evening. Thousands of motorcyclists converged on downtown, riding in on everything from new models to vintage and custom machines.RIDE-CT & RIDE-NewEngland plans stories on the annual event, but here are a few pics to show the flavor:
The riders came from all corners of Connecticut and beyond, and rode on all types of bikes. Volunteers tried to keep the parking organized, but that wasn’t always possible.
Downtown quickly became a mass of motorcycles and spectators.
Keeping a watchful eye on the good-natured crowd were Middletown’s finest – and their motorcycles.
While there were separate shows within the show for customs and vintage bikes…
…not all of the one-off bikes were sequestered in the specific show areas; many were just parked in the street.
Music was part of the mix at Middletown Motorcycle Mania.
Middletown Motorcycle Mania also had a strong dealer presence and provided the opportunity for potential buyers to sit on some new models. Hillel and Audra Weisel of Seymour, CT learned about the Indian Roadmaster from Indian Motorcycle of Springfield (MA) owner Dennis Bolduc.
When downtown filled up, riders parked on nearby streets and in parking garages.
There were a few familiar faces, such attorney John Haymond and his marketing guy Dexter Balyeat.
Thankfully, the weather cooperated, with Mother Nature even providing a rainbow.
The only problem was trying to leave; there were just so many people.
More on Middletown Motorcycle Mania to come…
