NEW YORK – It may have been second runner-up in Victory’s recent “Operation Octane” dealer custom build contest, but the motorcycle dubbed “Bar Fighter” and entered by MOMS Boston got prominent display at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show over the weekend.

Crafted with the help of Mark Tempesta of Breaklites Motorsports in Peabody, MA, “Bar Fighter” converts the Octane performance cruiser into more of a sport bike, with upswept exhaust and tail and complementary accent lighting.

“Victory’s tag line is ‘modern American muscle.’ We built the bike along those lines,” said Tempesta, who was at the show along with Mikey Ramirez of MOMS Boston.

“The whole thing is styled after the Dodge Viper GTS,” Tempesta continued. “We wanted to give it more of a sport-bike flair.”

Tempesta suggested that an actual production bike from Victory, modeled after “Bar Fighter,” might work to bridge the void between the cruiser and sport bike worlds.

“I would love to see something like that. That’s definitely something that’s missing,” he said.
