New Ducati Superbike Gets A Name

Ducati, which has relied on numbers only for its past superbikes, has added a name to a new model planned for 2012. The company announced today that it’ll be the “Ducati 1199 Panigale.” The bike will be unveiled at the EIICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy, from Nov. 10-13. The name’s pronounced “Pan-ee-gah-lee,” and refers to an area of Bologna. Here’s a teaser video that shows very little of the actual bike:

 

Sikhs in Ontario are calling for an exemption to the province’s motorcycle helmet law. They claim it infringes on their religious beliefs, which requires that men wear turbans. It has even become an election issue. British Columbia and Manitoba have granted such exemptions. “The Record” in Kitchener has the story here.
