New from Moto Guzzi – California 1400

Can’t wait for the “Guzzi Guys” – friends Gary Randall and Brian O’Neil, who both ride vintage Moto Guzzi Eldorados – to feast their eyes on the latest cruiser from the Italian motorcycle-maker. It’s the 2013 California 1400, just introduced at the EICMA show in Milan.

Boasting a 1,380cc V-twin engine, and putting out 96 horsepower, the California 1400 has a 5.4-gallon gas tank, a six-speed transmission and a ride-by-wire throttle with three mappings: Turismo (Touring), Veloce (Fast) and Bagnato (Wet).

The California 1400 comes in two versions – Touring and Custom. The Touring version (pictured at top) has a two-tone saddle, windscreen, hard bags and both engine and pannier guards.  The Custom has drag handlebars and a sportier look. Both have looks that would fit equally on the street or in a museum.
