Harley-Davidson continues to modify its entry-level Sportster model and has now come up with the 1200 Custom for 2011.
It features a chunky 16-inch front wheel, a pull-back handlebar (with a mini-apehanger option) and a reshaped LED tail lamp. There’s also wider fork spacing and wider triple clamp, a reshaped “eyebrow” over the headlight and a retuned front suspension.
Base price on the new model is $10,299 and that’s with chrome five-spoke cast wheels, two-up seat, blacked out engine with chrome covers and black paint. A different solid color will cost $290 more while a two-tone paint job will cost an additional $500. Seat height is 26.6 inches and the 1200 Custom has a 4.5 gallon gas tank.
Harley describes the new bike as a Sportster with a “Fattitude.”
