Yamaha has announced two new street models for 2017 – the scrambler-styled SCR950, which is based on the existing Bolt, and the FZ-10 sport bike.
With an MSRP of $8,699, the SCR950 uses the 942cc/58-cubic-inch V-twin engine found in the Bolt and gives it a mid-pegs, a low-profile bench seat, side number plates, fork gaiters and a two-into-one upswept exhaust.
The SCR950 is belt driven and has a five-speed transmission. The wet weight is 547 pounds, seat height is 32.7 inches, and the gas tanks holds 3.2 gallons. It is estimated to get 51 mpg.
The SCR950 comes in two colors – red and charcoal silver.
The FZ-10 also comes in two colors – matte black and gray – and has an MSRP of $12,999.
Powered by a 998cc, inline four cylinder engine that was developed for the YZF-R1 superbike, the FZ-10 comes with a six-speed transmission, cruise control, traction control and ABS, and three modes of engine response.
The wet weight of the FZ-10 is 463 pounds. It has a 4.5 gallon gas tank, a 32.5-inch seat height and chain drive. The FZ-10 is being sold elsewhere as the MT-10.
The FZ-10 is expected in dealerships in late June; the SCR950 in July. Yamaha’s website may be found here.
