Oil Drippings: News and Opinion

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

A midday ride on Route 63 yesterday from Falls Village to Litchfield, and back home to Harwinton on Route 118, probably had drivers wondering what was up.  Gary Randall and I had ridden to Toymaker’s Cafe for lunch and were chowing down when a person came in and asked, “Whose Moto Guzzi is that in the parking lot without a license plate?” It was Gary’s vintage Eldorado.

It was a tedious trip home. We retraced the 29 miles at a much slower-than-normal pace. We scanned the gutter on the opposite side of the road and frequently waved cars to go around us. Must have looked pretty silly. No luck in spotting the missing plate, though.

New, smaller bikes at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, CA over the weekend got the attention of Ronald Ahrens, who filed a report for “The New York Times” here.
