Owner of Flotsam Harley Found

The owner of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle that floated in a container from Japan to Canada following a tsunami more than a year ago has been found, and efforts are underway to restore the bike and reunite it with its owner.

“The Vancouver Sun” reports that the Harley was washed up on a beach on Graham Island in British Columbia belongs to 29-year-old Ikuo Yokoyama, who expressed relief and happiness over his motorcycle being found. The newspaper has the story here.

While the bike’s now a rusted relic, a Harley dealership in Langford, B.C. immediately sought donations to get it back in running condition – and has already received $10,000 (Canadian) worth of pledges. The Motor Co. has offered to do the restoration at one of its facilities in Japan.

Not that I can ever recall seeing an ad for BMW, but the German bike maker has hired The S3 Agency of Boonton, NJ as the new ad agency for the $2 million account, according to MediaPost.com.
