Reasons to Avoid Motorcycles and Tattoos … Or Not

By Bud Wilkinson of RIDE-CT.com

If you’re an iPhone user, you might want to ditch your motorcycle and avoid getting a tattoo. Research released today by the protection plan company SquareTrade shows that smartphone users with certain lifestyles and habits damage their devices more frequently than others.

Motorcycle owners were “25% more likely” to have had an accident with their iPhone. People with tattoos were also “25% more likely”  to have had an accident. (No data were supplied on smartphone users with tattoos who also own motorcycles.)

SquareTrade’s 2012 Smartphone Accident Survey also revealed that people who have sex more than once a week are “15% more likely” to damage their communications devices (by rolling over on them?), while pet owners are “7% more likely.”

Most at risk, though, were people who trade stocks frequently. They are “40% more likely” to have had an accident with their phone.

Let’s see now. RIDE-CT.com has a motorcycle (three, actually) and a pet (one dog), but no tattoos. Sex? What’s that? Guess I’ve just been lucky, even if I haven’t been “getting lucky.” My iPhone is intact.
